3 Recipes to Fuel Your Fall and Winter Workouts

Apple Oat Breakfast Smoothie Protein

Summer is by far my favorite season— the warm sunshine, everything active outdoors and the amazing fresh berries that come into season— so perfect for throwing into a post-workout smoothie!

When Fall and Winter come around, and the berries shoot up to $10 per pint, it’s time to get creative with your workout fuel.

Try one of these three recipes which all incorporate the best of fall flavors, the little shot of protein you need for efficient muscle recovery and a whole lot of tasty!

 Pumpkin Pie Protein Balls

Prep Time: 5 min

Makes: 6 balls

Ingredients

  • ½ cup rolled old fashioned Oats
  • 1 scoop Whey Based Protein Powder (21g)- Natural Vanilla Flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • 2 Tablespoons Almond Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Organic Pumpkin

Instructions

  1. Mix all dry ingredients together first.
  2. Add Almond Butter and Pumpkin.
  3. Stir until all ingredients are evenly combined.
  4. Roll mixture into 6 balls.
  5. Stick in the refrigerator for your next workout!

 

Pomegranate Berry Banana Smoothie

Prep Time: 2 min

Makes: 1 smoothie

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Organic Greek Yogurt or Plain Lowfat
  • ½ cup 100% Pure Pomegranate Juice
  • 1 cup frozen Blueberries
  • 1 scoop Whey Based Protein Powder (21g)- Natural Vanilla Flavor
  • 1 banana

Optional: If smoothie is too thick after blending, add a splash of coconut milk.

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients and blend!

 

Harvest Apple and Oat Breakfast Smoothie

Prep Time: 2 min

Makes: 1 smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 medium sized apple peeled, cored and chopped- Pick your favorite variety
  • 1 cup unsweetened Coconut Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground Cinnamon
  • Pinch of Nutmeg
  • Slice of fresh Ginger
  • ½ cup rolled Old Fashioned Oats
  • 1 scoop Whey Based Protein Powder (21g)

Optional: If you prefer a cold smoothie, add a handful of ice.

Instructions

  1. Throw all ingredients in the blender and blend away until smooth!
